王鴻薇下午在國民黨中央黨部受訪時表示，洪秀柱回傳給國民黨主席朱立倫簡訊內容的態度，其實跟洪秀柱在十月七日中常會決議召開臨時全國代表大會討論事項後的聲明態度一致；洪秀柱在七日的聲明中特別提到，「我更相信臨時全代會的全體黨代表，在本黨危急存亡之秋，會捍衛本黨應有的誠信與是非」。
因此，王鴻薇說，在這段時間到臨時全代會召開前，洪秀柱會持續地跟所有的黨代表進行溝通，告訴黨代表們參選理念，全力爭取黨代表支持。
